| The Z Lazy B Guest Ranch is located
near the Continental Divide in western central New Mexico. A
two-hour drive from Albuquerque, New Mexico and a five-hour drive from
Phoenix, Arizona, the Z Lazy B is easily accessible from both metropolitan
areas. Local airport access is gained from Gallup (NM) Municipal
Airport. Commuter airline service provided by America West Airlines.
Gallup, New Mexico has been called the
"Gateway to Indian Country," and for good reason: it serves
nearly 200,000 people, most from the local Indian reservations.
Gallup is the home to nightly Native American dances in the summer,
occasional festivals and pow-wows, and also hosts one of the world's
largest and well-known Native American festivals: the Gallup Intertribal
Ceremonial, which is held annually in August.
Gallup is close to many tourist attractions, such as Canyon de Chelly,
Window Rock, El Morro National Monument, as well as the Zuni, Hopi and
Navajo Indian Reservations. It is also one of the notable cities on
Route 66, and is included as a stop on the "Great Race," an
annual cross-country race of vintage automobiles. |

Although there are other well-known
recreational areas, the areas around the Ranch are comparable to many of
those areas in the western United States. Some of the most
challenging and beautiful mountain biking terrain, comparable to Moab, UT,
is available nearby. World-class elk hunting is available at the
Ranch and nearby areas. Fishing is available at the Ranch and at
nearby McGaffey Lake. Also, world-class fly-fishing is accessible
within two hours' drive. Excellent rock climbing is nearby and
challenging four-wheel driving can be accessed through adjacent National
Forest land. |
